Nutrition Tip: Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Nutrition Tip: Omega-3 fatty acids are vital in balancing your dietary fat intake. The diet of today tends to favour Omega-6. Considering medical evidence suggests excessive levels of these fatty acids can increase inflammation and may increase the probability of a number of diseases, it is a good idea to ensure your diet is fortified with plenty of Omega-3’s. Dietary sources include fatty fish like salmon, flax-seeds, nuts (walnuts, almonds), etc. If you’re going to go down the path of supplementation, look out for capsules with a DHA/EPA content of at least 40% of the total fat content.
