Dieting: What Really Matters

I’m sure we've all noticed it by now … The health and fitness industry is full of contradictions. Are eggs bad? Should we avoid red meat? Is a calories REALLY just a calorie?! One of the reasons I started this blog was to address these inconsistencies because I feel people have the right to make informed choices in their lives.

Today I wanted to touch on one of the most confusing and frustrating nutritional ‘dogmas’, that -

losing or gaining weight is just a matter of ‘calories in versus calories out’.

That is, weight loss or gain is a simple adjustment of calories to suit your goals. However, this is only ONE part of the whole equation.

The Equation to Dieting Success

The amount of calories you eat determines how much weight you gain or lose …. The nutrient timing, the source of your food and the macro ratio will determine whether that weight is fat or muscle.

In my next post I’ll be talking more about WHY this equation is the key to your dieting success! Stay Tuned
